Cloak which can make you invisible - Myth or Reality ?

Invisibility Cloak

A Japanese scientist has developed a coat which
appears to make the wearer invisible.

The illusion was part of a demonstration of optical camouflage
technology at Tokyo University.

It is the brainchild of Professor Susumu Tachi who is in the early stage
of research he hopes will eventually make camouflaged objects virtually
transparent.

The photograph was taken through a viewfinder that uses a combination of
moving images taken behind the wearer to give a transparent effect.

It’s hoped the technology will be useful for surgeons frustrated their
own hands and surgical tools can block their view of operations and
pilots who wish cockpit floors were transparent for landings.

Invisibility Cloak - Explained

Now let’s put all of these components together to see how the invisibility cloak
appears to make a person transparent. The diagram below shows the typical
arrangement of all of the various devices and pieces of equipment.

Once a person puts on the cloak made with the retro-reflective material,
here’s the sequence of events:

  • A digital video camera captures the scene behind the person wearing the
    cloak.
  • The computer processes the captured image and makes the calculations
necessary to adjust the still image or video so it will look realistic when
    it is projected.
  • The projector receives the enhanced image from the computer and shines
the image through a pinhole-sized opening onto the combiner.
  • The silvered half of the mirror, which is completely reflective, bounces
the projected image toward the person wearing the cloak.
  • The cloak acts like a movie screen, reflecting light directly back to
the source, which in this case is the mirror.
  • Light rays bouncing off of the cloak pass through the transparent part
of the mirror and fall on the user’s eyes. Remember that the light rays
bouncing off of the cloak contain the image of the scene that exists behind
    the person wearing the cloak.
  • The person wearing the cloak appears invisible because the background scene is
being displayed onto the retro-reflective material. At the same time, light rays
from the rest of the world are allowed reach the user’s eye, making it seem as
if an invisible person exists in an otherwise normal-looking world.

Top 10 Craziest Ebay Sales Auctions. Really unbelievable !!!

Perhaps you’ve heard stories of people auctioning off strange items on eBay, like the homely kid who put his virginity up for bid or the bald guys who offer their own heads as advertising space. But those are nothing compared to some of the items that have made their way onto eBay’s digital auction block.
Here are ten of the weirdest things ever to appear on eBay. To qualify for this list, the item or items must have received at least one bid, proving the point that no matter what you have to sell, somewhere there is a buyer for it.

    10. Item #191367029: The Internet

If people can sell plots of land on the moon, then why can’t someone sell the Internet? Someone did just that, for the bargain asking price of $1 million. Of course, it was all just a gag and it’s unlikely that this Pay Pal transaction ever went through. But still, it would have been the deal of the century-the buyer was even throwing in free Internet access.

    9. Item #277481422: UFO Detector

A prototype manufactured by a Brazilian company, this modified magnetometer is supposed to pick up UFO activity and was proven to work when red and orange balls of light appeared in the skies over Sao Paulo. Unfortunately, it wasn’t 100% guaranteed due to the fact that “the propulsion systems of UFOs are not the same.” Why would the seller want to part with such a unique item? It’s okay-he had two. Final sale price: $135.03.

    8. Item #248619068: The Meaning of Life

Someone finally figured it out, and they put it up for sale on eBay. Even with eight bids this incredible find didn’t fetch much, but it was probably the best $3.26 the winning bidder ever spent.

    7. Item #1178647016: Russian Test Space Shuttle

This one-of-a-kind item was once offered by a Russian company for $2 million, but was posted on eBay for “a fraction of that.” It’s not known how much they wanted for the scaled-down Bor-5 VKK spacecraft, because the reserve price was never reached. Bidding topped out at $25,200, but perhaps it was the $5,000 shipping price that scared off potential buyers.

    6. Item #2961640885: Vampire Killing Kit

The stylish vampire hunter would love this late 1800s European “vampire killing kit,” which included a crossbow with four silver-tipped arrows, an ebony wood stake, a large bottle of holy water and various surgical instruments, among other things. A solid mahogany wood box kept the items secure until they would be needed. Final bid: $4,550.

    5. Item #289158639: Real Shrunken Head

Straight from the Jivaro Indian tribe in the jungles of Ecuador to the world’s largest electronic marketplace, a total of 26 shrunken heads were put up for sale. Only 7 people bid on them, with the top bidder paying just under $25. It is assumed that he or she got first choice of the heads, which ranged in color from dark brown to gray.

    4. Item #2931457201: Ghost In a Jar

As the story goes, the seller of this item found a rotted wooden box while metal detecting. Inside were two glass jars and a journal. One of the jars was accidentally dropped, causing a black mist of some sort to be released. The other jar and the journal were taken home, and the seller proceeded to be haunted by something he could only describe as “The Black Thing.”

Wishing to pass the jar (and the ghost) on to someone else, he put the still unopened jar on eBay, insisting that only serious bidders would be considered. People must have loved the story, because there were well over 60 bids placed.

Unfortunately, not all of them were serious, because the selling price topped $90 million. No word as to who finally wound up with the jar, or if they too had supernatural visitors. Since this auction, there have been many, many more “ghost in a jar” items posted on eBay.

    3. Item #150118191: USAF Hughes AIM-4D Falcon Missile

Yes, a real missile was auctioned off; fortunately, it was disarmed prior to the sale. The bidding reached $3,950, but the reserve price was never met.

    2. Item #127658711: Serial Killer’s Fingernails

In 1979, Lawrence Bittaker and Roy Norris cruised southern California on a killing spree that resulted in at least five victims. And now, the fingernails of Roy Norris have been sold on eBay for only $9.99.

Taped to the back of a Christmas card, they were accompanied by a penned note from Norris himself, signed and topped off with the serial killer’s black thumbprint.

    1. Item number not known: “Stricken Life” Painting

A rather macabre-looking self-portrait of a man known only as “Harold,” this painting is believed to be haunted. The artist was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in early 2001. Knowing that he could no longer care for his Multiple Sclerosis-stricken wife, he put a double-barrel shotgun against her head while she was sleeping and squeezed the trigger.

He then went into the den and put the shotgun in his own mouth. The house where the murder-suicide took place was eventually sold, and the new owners found the painting. Strange things started happening, such as the family dog sitting in front of the painting and howling, so Harold had to go — on eBay, of course.

Snake swallows the man - Real shocking pics!!!

    Serpents
being, for the most part, a shy, inoffensive species unjustly vilified in most
human cultures, one hesitates to publish anything that might arouse anti-snake
sentiment. That said, it’s not every day you come across full-color photos of a
giant herpetological specimen digesting a human being whole, so political
correctness be damned. Just watch chilling/horrifying pics….

Funny or Weird? you decide ! Woman sat on boyfriend’s toilet for 2 years

WICHITA, Kan. — A 35-year-old woman who sat on her boyfriend’s toilet for so long that her body was stuck to the seat by the time he called police had a phobia about leaving the bathroom, the boyfriend said.
“She is an adult; she made her own decision,” said her boyfriend, Kory McFarren. “I should have gotten help for her sooner; I admit that. But after a while, you kind of get used to it.”
The case drew nationwide attention after Ness County Sheriff Bryan Whipple said it appeared the Ness City woman’s skin had grown around the seat in the two years she apparently was in the bathroom.
“We pried the toilet seat off with a pry bar and the seat went with her to the hospital,” Whipple said. “The hospital removed it.”
McFarren, 36, said he can’t be certain how long Pam Babcock stayed in the bathroom because “time just went by so quick I can’t pinpoint how long.” He said beatings she received in her childhood caused her phobia.
“It just kind of happened one day; she went in and had been in there a little while, the next time it was a little longer. Then she got it in her head she was going to stay — like it was a safe place for her,” McFarren said.
But McFarren said she moved around in the bathroom during that time, bathed and changed into the clothes he brought her. He brought food and water to her. They had conversations and had an otherwise normal relationship — except it all happened in the bathroom.
McFarren said he finally called police Feb. 27 after he became worried because Babcock was acting groggy — like she didn’t know what was going on, except she was awake.
What emergency responders found when they went into bathroom has left residents of this small western Kansas town buzzing, and law enforcement officials incredulous.
Police found the clothed woman sitting on the toilet, her sweat pants down to mid-thigh. She was “somewhat disoriented,” and her legs looked like they had atrophied, Whipple said.
“She was not glued. She was not tied. She was just physically stuck by her body,” Whipple said. “It is hard to imagine. … I still have a hard time imagining it myself.”
She initially refused emergency medical services, but was finally convinced by responders and her boyfriend that she needed to be checked out at a hospital.
“She said that she didn’t need any help, that she was OK and did not want to leave,” he said.
Whipple said the county attorney will determine whether any charges should be filed against McFarren.
McFarren, who works at an antique store, said he has been taking care of Babcock for the 16 years they have lived together. He insisted that he tried to coax her out of the bathroom every day.
“And her reply would be, ‘Maybe tomorrow,’” Whipple said. “According to him, she did not want to leave the bathroom.”
She was reported in fair condition Wednesday at a hospital in Wichita, about 150 miles southeast of Ness City. Whipple said she has refused to cooperate with medical providers or law enforcement investigators.
Babcock has an infection in her legs that has damaged her nerves, and there is a possibility she may wind up in a wheelchair, McFarren said.
James Ellis, a neighbor, said he had known the woman since she was a child, but that he had not seen her for at least six years.
“I don’t think anybody can make any sense out of it,” Ellis said.
Babcock had a tough childhood after her mother died at a young age and apparently was usually kept inside the house as she grew up, he said.
“It really doesn’t surprise me,” Ellis said. “What surprises me is somebody wasn’t called in a bit earlier.”

Power of big boobs-Big Breasts Win Verdict For Japanese Pin-Up

TOKYO (AFP) - A Japanese pin-up model says that her big breasts have not only
boosted her career — they also helped her overturn a court verdict.

The bikini model, who goes by her professional name Serena Kozakura, was
cleared after a court decided she was too well-endowed to squeeze into a room
through a hole, as she had been found guilty of earlier.

"I used to hate my body so much," Kozakura, who has appeared in product
commercials on television, told the private Asahi network in an interview aired
    Tuesday.

"But it was my breasts" that won in court, she said.

The case was splashed through the Japanese media on Tuesday, with the Asahi
network even inviting her to demonstrate how she could not fit through the
    opening.

Kozakura, 38, was convicted last year of property destruction after a man
said she kicked in the wooden door of his room and crawled inside, apparently
because he was with another woman.

Kozakura had said the man made the hole himself.

In her appeal, the defence counsel held up a plate showing the size of the
hole and said that she could not squeeze through with her 110-centimetre
    (44-inch) bust.

"The judges were very good-mannered as they showed no expressions on their
    faces. I guess they’re well-trained," Kozakura said.

    Tokyo High Court
presiding judge Kunio Harada agreed and threw out the
guilty verdict on Monday, saying there was reasonable doubt over the man’s
    account.

Cult believes a Seal may save
    Mankind

Japanese cult members entered the area from Nagano
Prefecture, parking at an inspection site operated by the Ministry of
Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and entered the Yamanashi Prefecture
district of Hakushu late Tuesday, promising to vacate the area no later
than 3 a.m. Wednesday, before their predicted end of the world on May
    15.

Earlier, the members of the strange cult had departed from Kiyomi, Gifu
Prefecture, where they occupied a section of road for over 60 hours
    Monday afternoon.

The all-white fleet had crossed the prefectural border and alighted on a
national road in the Nagano Prefectural village of Kaida on Tuesday
    morning.

Unlike the roads they have occupied in previous months, the Kaida road
was wide enough for them to avoid police accusations of breaking traffic
    rules.

A truck bearing license plates issued in Aomori Prefecture supplied the
doomsday cult members with food and fuel.

During the stopover in Kaida, members of the cult allowed a Fuji
Television Network reporter to conduct an interview with a woman
believed to be Panawave’s ailing leader, 69-year-old Yuko Chino.

The interviewer and his crew were ordered to wear white garments and to
cover their equipment with matching-colored cloths.

Despite claiming she is a terminally ill cancer patient, a surprisingly
animated and lively Chino argued that the most important issue at the
moment was to save "Tama-chan," a stray bearded seal that now lives in a
    river in Saitama Prefecture.

"I will die in four or five days from now but that’s nothing as
important as Tama-chan. We’ve been feeding him every day since last
summer," Chino told the Fuji reporter inside one of the cult’s vans.

She also accused "radicals" for harassing her followers and preventing
them from settling in one place. The convoy then started moving again
and entered Yamanashi Prefecture shortly after 5:30 p.m.

Sources said Panawave members believe that "rescuing" Tama-chan would
spare mankind from certain destruction on May 15 — the day when a
massive earthquake triggered by the tilting of the Earth’s axis will
devastated the planet, according to cultist publications.

Tensions are rising in Oizumi, where cult members have constructed
dome-shaped structures, which they claim to be resistant to any kind of
natural disaster, in preparations for doomsday.

The Panawave facility also has two makeshift swimming pools, apparently
built to house the wandering seal.

A senior Panawave member who built the structures had told Oizumi
officials that his fellow members would not come because there is "too
much electromagnetic wave activity (that they believe to be harmful)."
However, Chino’s statement confirmed the cult’s determination to find a
    shelter there.

Oizumi residents, however, are in no mood to welcome the cultists. "We
are planning to do a sit-in (on roads leading to Oizumi) to stop them
entering," said one of some 40 villagers who attended an emergency
    meeting Tuesday.

A resolution to call up every one of its 4,000 residents to block the
cultists from entering Oizumi was adopted at the meeting. Members of a
local volunteer fire company are watching six roads leading into the
    village.

Yamanashi police also set up a 210-man task force to deal with the
problem. They plan to pounce on the cultists if, as they have done in
the past, they occupy a section of road and cover the area with white
    cloths.

None of the possible charges, including violations of the Road Traffic
Law and farmland laws, however, will have a decisive effect.

Vibrator for children- Mattle come up with this weird toy

    Vibrator For Children

    Vibrator For Children

Mattel recently introduced the “Harry Potter
Broomstick”. It’s a battery-powered toy that resembles the flying Nimbus
2000 brooms from the Harry Potter movies. For added effect, the broom
    makes “flying noises” and vibrates.

After a while on the market, concerned parents noticed that mostly young
girls seemed to enjoy the toy - especially the vibrating part…

Here are some of the customer reviews from the Toys R Us website:

Reviewer: A toy enthusiast from NJ
This toy was #1 on my daughter’s Christmas list. So what the heck,
although it has no educational value I figured it would be good for
imaginative play. It wasn’t until after she opened her gift and started
playing with it that I realized that the toy may offer a more than
    sensational experience
. The broomstick has cute sound effects and
***VIBRATES*** when they put it between their legs
    to fly. Come
on—what were the creators of this toy thinking? She’ll keep playing
with the Nimbus 2000, but with the batteries removed.

    Reviewer: Ashley from TX
My 12 year old daughter is a big Harry Potter fan, and loved the part
with the Nimbus 2000, so I decided to buy her this toy. I was afraid she
would think it was too babyish, but she LOVES this toy. Even my
daughter’s friends enjoy playing with this fun toy. I was surprised at
how long they can just sit in her room and play with this magic
    broomstick!
A great buy for any Harry Potter fan! :)

Reviewer: A toy enthusiast from Maine, USA
I recently bought this for my son, Vantro. He’s a HUGE Harry Potter fan.
Seen the movie 32 times (in the theaters) and made the paper. This toy
gives him the ability to fly around the house zapping things. My only
problem I see with the toy is the batteries drain too fast and his
sister fights him over it, so now I need to buy her one.

    Reviewer: poola13 from Ohio
When my 12 year old daughter asked for this for her birthday, I kind of
wondered if she was too old for it, but she seems to LOVE it. Her
friends love it too! They play for hours in her bedroom with this
great toy. They really seem to like the special effects it offers (the
sound effects and vibrating). My oldest daughter (17) really likes it
    too!
I reccomend this for all children.

“American Idol” for Russian Jails. Winner goes free !

    Russian Prison Superstar

    Russian Prison Superstar

In an attempt to deal with overcrowded jails and
rampant violence in the prison system, Moscow’s minister of justice has
been turning to television for help. He proposed a new non-violent hobby
for the inmates: singing. Similar to American Idol, Russian prisoners
can now compete in a talent show. The winner is released from prison.

The talent show is named “The Red Snowballberry” and the grand finale
will take place in Moscow in October.

Some law enforcement insiders fear the Russian mob may try to hack into
the voting computers and manipulate the results in order to free some of
    their associates.
